The Strategic Talent Group: 

The Strategic Talent Group (STG), within UF HR’s Talent Acquisition and Onboarding unit, is a team of expert talent acquisition consultants that serve as the internal executive search group for the University of Florida. STG’s mission is to partner with all colleges and units across campus to provide exceptional recruitment services by utilizing a consultative approach, leveraging our knowledge and expertise to educate, guide and empower our campus partners to engage and acquire top talent. Our vision is to create a competitive advantage for the University of Florida by supporting our partners to attract, hire and engage preeminent leaders, strong individual contributors, and high-functioning collaborative teams. 

In this position, you will serve as an executive consultant who plays a pivotal role in the ongoing growth and success of the University of Florida by creating competitive recruitment strategies while identifying and engaging passive candidates in a highly competitive executive talent market. Talent Consultants function both independently as lead consultants and collaboratively as a team of subject matter experts during full-cycle searches. Timeline for searches vary depending on search components but average anywhere from 30 days to 4 months.

The Talent Consultant position allows for remote work and a flexible work schedule when such arrangements benefit both the organization and employees. 

The role and responsibilities associated with this position will include but not be limited to: 

  • Provide full cycle talent acquisition services utilizing creative strategies for sourcing passive candidates, scheduling interviews, creating evaluation criteria, and managing logistics for executive and hard to fill staff and faculty roles. 
  • Support campus partners with administrative tasks including managing search logistics such as updating requisitions, posting meetings, managing candidate inquiries, building interview itineraries and hosting campus finalists. 
  • Consult with search chairs, hiring authorities, panels, and committees regarding best practices in hiring. Provides training and education on relevant topics, as requested. 
  • Source for top talent and develops talent pipelines through proactive relationship building and networking. 
  • Facilitate information sessions, attend events, and coordinate events to build the University of Florida’s visibility as a premier employer. 
  • Engage talent platforms such as LinkedIn Recruiter and social media sites to develop and implement compelling strategies that engage a broad audience. 
  • Lead and participate in broader Talent Acquisition & Onboarding strategic programs or initiatives that advance the use of best practices in engaging and attracting top talent for the UF Community. This may include providing support, in the form of career coaching and networking, for Dual Career Partners and Spouses. 

Expected Salary:

54,000.00

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of appropriate experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience sourcing top talent in and across disciplines and levels in a higher ed environment is a plus 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational skills 
  • Ability to manage projects and events, see the big picture, and attend to the details 
  • Commitment to customer service and building authentic relationships with others 
  • Experience providing coaching, mentoring, training and/or guidance to a broad range of stakeholders from various backgrounds. 
  • Experience public speaking 
  • Maintain professional dress, behavior and demeanor when engaging clients, visitors, customers, and the public.
