About the Job:

The Principal System engineer oversees Digital program testing, liaises with leadership and delivery/business teams, and represents these teams in communications and meetings. They are responsible for understanding and managing the program's health, collaborating with various testing phases, and addressing complex issues.

About the Team:

This role requires expertise in testing principles and product Testing Flows, Architecture, and Test Phases. The candidate will work closely with multiple teams throughout the application solutions lifecycle, ensure adherence to SLAs, monitor Test Design & Execution, and deliver performance reports.

The selected candidate will also lead and support team members, streamline processes, work with Automation & Performance Leads for continuous delivery and management, and advocate for QA practices to enhance the customer experience.

Responsibilities and Day-to-Day View

  • Manages the overall Digital program testing
  • Acts as the single point of contact for all tracks for leadership and delivery/business teams
  • Responsible for an overall understanding of the program's health and representing leadership in program communications
  • Understands the program from all testing aspects, including Architecture and Customer's Journey, to deliver an excellent user experience
  • Possesses expert knowledge of testing principles, including what, where, and how to test (Environment, Data, Testing Phases Needed)
  • Collaborates with all testing phases (ST, IST, ECT, UEX) to successfully complete high visibility projects.
  • Drives the program from environments to defect resolution, assists with resolving complex issues by proposing solutions or escalating to appropriate channels
  • Represents Testing Teams and leadership during meetings with Business Owners, Leadership, and other Stakeholders
  • Acts as a Subject Matter Expert on all product Testing Flows, Architecture, Test Phases to identify initial concerns or needs of testing prior to PI Planning
  • Collaborates closely with testing teams, product management, developers, internal and external teams, stakeholders, and business owners through all stages of application solutions lifecycle development.
  • Provides business context and insights, optimizes processes, provides clear and consistent priorities, works through trade-offs, and communicates plans and requirements effectively
  • Ensures adherence to SLAs
  • Collaborates with Developers, Business, and multiple global stakeholders to drive the QA agenda.
  • Monitors Test Design & Execution
  • Delivers regular reports that provide qualitative and quantitative descriptions of business performance
  • Works with Automation & Performance Leads & Architect for continuous Delivery & Management
  • Leads, guides, and supports team members, helping streamline work processes to improve efficiency and consistency
  • Advocates for QA practice and defines ways to continually add value to the customer experience

Qualifications:

  • Over 8 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in digital e-commerce development platforms
  • Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field
  • Experience developing technical documentation on applications and systems.
  • Ability to work with technical and business-oriented teams
  • Prior experience in the Telecom industry is a plus
  • Demonstrated expertise in Test Strategy, Planning, Estimation, and Analysis
  • Proficient in QA Test management, covering both Functional and Non-Functional testing, with a deep understanding of Salesforce best practices
  • Adherence to Test Process in test and defect management
  • Specialization in CRM, Order Management, Charging, Billing, & Automation
  • Experience with ADO implementation, Pipelines, work items, and Test Plan
  • Knowledgeable in API Testing Automation
  • Skilled in preparing daily status reports and defect dashboards
  • Decision-making authority for Entry and Exit of internal/development Testing stages
  • Excellent negotiation skills to proactively collaborate with the Testing Team, Dev Leads, and other members
  • Proficient in Risk identification & analysis
  • Proven expertise in Agile software development, especially Scrum and Kanban methodologies
  • Experience in GUI & API Automation using Java
  • Familiarity with Katalon, Selenium WebDriver within BDD, TDD frameworks
  • Strong Presentation Skills - Capable of Developing and Presenting Materials at the Director and AVP Levels
  • Experience in Rest API testing using tools like Postman/SOAP UI

Our Principal-System Engineer earns between $158,200.00-$237,400.00. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training
