The Munich based Battery Management Systems Segment drives the business of NXP’s leading mixed-signal battery management products for automotive and industrial markets. Together with our digital and analog design teams worldwide we develop application specific standard products which integrate high performance analog functions as well as digital logic ranging up to 32 bit microcontrollers and DSPs in high voltage CMOS processes.

In order to support our System & Product Definition team in the development of the next generation battery management systems and in the definition of the corresponding IP we are looking for a Systems Architect Functional Safety who will drive the definition of the functional safety concept as well as the related analysis according to ISO26262. Your work will enable our next generation advanced battery management solutions and you will be complemented and supported by a team of senior system architects.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Strong collaboration with the system architecture team, the digital and analog design as well as with the application teams throughout the whole development cycle
  • Requirement analysis and generation of concepts and documentation
  • Behavioral modeling and architectural design, alignment of interfaces with other analog and mixed-signal IP
  • Design, simulation, and verification of the communication system model
  • Definition of verification requirements according to industrial and automotive standards
  • Verification of the implemented system together with the application and test teams
  • Benchmark of the deferent architectures and collaboration with lead customers
  • Definition of the needed external components and the required AMS and digital IP blocks
  • Present the communication technology implemented to customer if required

Your Profile:

  • Masters Degree in a technical field and several years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink, and C++ is required, experience with SystemC is preferred.
  • Expert knowledge and demonstrated experience in the architecture and design of advanced communication systems and protocols
  • Deep understanding of the relevant standards (e.g. Homeplug GreenPhy, IEEE 802.x) and technologies, e.g. OFDM, TDMA
  • Expert knowledge of the needed IP blocks and their performance characteristics
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Readiness of team- and people skills for an international and intercultural environment, self-driven attitude to get engaged, create and contribute
  • Open to travel for customer meetings and internal team meetings up to 20% of the time
