We are looking for strong Engineering Program Managers who have experience working with Carriers, OEM and Modem partners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands on support for the Modem/Telephony Engineering feature team and manage its product backlog, its feature deliverables across a variety of consumer devices. This includes feature planning, feature delivery, bug management, partner management and coordination of relevant carrier features.
  • Oversee the creation of new processes and tools as necessary to support additional needs and requirements of a fast growing business.
  • Work closely with partner and internal engineers, Product and QA, both locally and remotely, to resolve technical design issues, make the latest software run smoothly and bug free, and ensure devices meet carrier requirements.
  • Seek out all necessary schedule inputs, develop a solid, defensible plan for release, and keep the team tracking to it. Manage changes to the plan appropriately.
  • Manage communication of progress/status within the core team and externally (customers, partners, etc.), and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Some travel is expected to help build positive relationships with Carriers, OEM and Modem partners.
  • Focus on the user experience and champion the quality bar internally, as well as with OEM partners to ensure we launch a great product.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience as a program or engineering manager.
  • 2 years of experience as a practicing engineer in a relevant technical domain.
  • Experience working with modem or radio or telephony stack

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8 years of relevant work experience including 5 years of industry experience in managing large, complex projects.
  • Experience writing system level software, working with mobile networks and delivering consumer electronics.
  • Familiarity with technologies like LTE/UMTS/CDMA and understanding challenges and trends in these areas.
  • Familiarity with Carriers, their requirements, Certification tests and process (e.g. SFN/PTN, GCF, PTCRB), IOT, PRE-FIT/D-FIT/G-FIT for CDMA, GSM, UMTS LTE) etc.
  • Experience debugging tough technical issues that cross boundaries between hardware, software, and network teams.
  • Expert at the practical application of program management principles and tools.
  • Track record of quickly earning credibility based on your knowledge, flexibility, and amazing accomplishments. As well as possessing fantastic communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
