Job Summary:

The Simmons University School of Business is seeking applicants for a full time Assistant or Associate Professor of Practice in Finance, to begin July 1, 2024.

The successful candidate will be committed to teaching finance and tools of financial analysis and to working with students and employers to achieve excellent student academic and employment outcomes. Additionally, the successful candidate will help to grow the small, practitioner-based finance program, and partner with colleagues across Business disciplines to develop interdisciplinary undergraduate programs and contribute to the launch of new graduate programs within the School of Business. This full time teaching position carries a seven course load per academic year. 

We seek a versatile and innovative finance professional with a commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education, creative curriculum development and a commitment to teaching and mentoring in one of the few women-centered Business Schools in the United States. The successful candidate will also have outstanding communication skills, work well in small teams and bring a commitment to inclusive Business education for women, trans and non-binary students.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching core Finance courses at the undergraduate level as well as at the graduate level as new programs are launched; 
  • Teaching courses in additional Business disciplines, including Accounting, Entrepreneurship and International Business depending on the candidate’s experience, expertise and course deployment needs; 
  • Undergraduate student advising, contributing to the assessment of student learning outcomes, and engagement in other service activities within the school, university, and business communities;
  • Contributions to undergraduate and graduate programmatic innovation at the School of Business, especially in the area of finance;

Qualifications

  • MBA or Masters degree in Finance or a closely related discipline at the minimum;
  • Track record of progressive professional success in the field of Finance;
  • Demonstrated excellence or capability to become an excellent teacher, mentor and advisor in a women-centered academic environment; 
  • Ability to teach in person, on the Boston campus; 
  • Experience working in small, innovative teams to develop successful new programs and initiatives that meet evolving market needs.
