Australia Awards Indonesia (AAI)

Australia Awards Indonesia (AAI) is managed by Tetra Tech on behalf of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Australia Awards is an integral part of Australia's development cooperation program with Indonesia and has enjoyed strong support from both governments for more than sixty years. Australia Awards addresses two key challenges: to fill a gap in the pool of individuals with the higher-level capacity to contribute to Indonesia's development; and the need for a strong deep relationship based on mutual understanding between Australia and Indonesia.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead data team in managing the screening process and management of all Australia Awards applicants into AAI Database and information needed for the selection process and after they are selected
  • Manage the program database and dashboard, which includes continuously conducting normalisation (cleaning) of the data
  • Accurately and promptly respond to data and analysis requests from external stakeholders (i.e., the Australian Embassy and Ministry of State Secretariat) and internal AAI team, presenting information in a manner easily understood by the users/clients
  • Provide other support as specified by the supervisor to contribute to the successful implementation of the AAI program

Selection criteria

  • Degree in one of the following fields: Computer Science, IT, Statistic, or similar field
  • At least 10 years of experience in managing database
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the confidentiality of data within the working environment
  • Demonstrated high level of understanding in data management and data visualiation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large volumes of data and to assist in the production of timely data analysis and reports
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience using MS Office suite of programs
  • High level of proficiency in the use of ACCESS, PowerBI, or other web-based data tool for accessing, analysis and visualization
  • Demonstrate understanding or have experience with SQL database or other database engine
  • Demonstrate understanding and/or experience with data models, and data mining
