THE WORK

Position Assignment: F-35 Contractor Instructor Pilot (CIP) to be located in Komatsu, Japan. This position will be responsible for the execution of training operations in support of the Japanese Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF).

The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the Lockheed Martin training team and Japanese Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) to fulfill F-35 training objectives in Komatsu, Japan.

This position supports military pilots’ flight procedures in maintaining qualification level in the Pilot Training Device by executing approved pilot training syllabi, upgrade, and tactics training. CIP will provide pilot training using the F-35 Full Mission Simulator (FMS). The instructor will primarily operate Instructor Operating Station (IOS) and will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting pilot training and tactics development, as well as recommendations for courseware updates. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the Lockheed Martin team at dedicated training sites to fulfill F-35 training and continuation training objectives. The successful candidate will implement and support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs and policies, as directed. Candidate must maintain a Secret level security clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) access. Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment. Additional duties and related responsibilities will be assigned as required.

Additional responsibilities:

• The successful candidate will implement, and support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs and policies as directed.
• Comply with site security and access control procedures in accordance with F-35 program and customer procedures.
• Sanitize all classified media (circuit cards, disk storage devices, etc.) to the LRU in accordance with established F-35 and customer procedures.
• The successful candidate must have worked in an environment which required them to interact with multiple functional areas and personnel of a diverse nature.

Foreign Assignment: This position will offer a long term deployment to a foreign country supporting Japanese Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) in Komatsu, Japan.

• Candidates be advised: this position operates in direct support of a deployable F-35 fighter squadron. Employee in this role may be required to deploy with the customer on peacetime and wartime military operations for defined and potentially undefined durations, and may be required to obtain and maintain customer required deployment readiness qualifications leading up to potential deployments.**

Basic Qualifications:

• Candidate must have active secret clearance and be able to qualify and hold a SAP clearance.
• Final clearance adjudication within the last five years.
• Candidate should have Fighter Pilot Flight Time in fourth and/or fifth generation aircraft.

• Familiarity with Japan flight rules, procedures, and operations.
• Familiarity with F-35 tactics, techniques, and procedures.
• Familiarity with Pacific theatre customers and mission.
