The Energy Security Project (ESP) is a seven-year project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the largest USAID project in Ukraine so far. The USAID ESP is implemented by Tetra Tech, a leading consulting firm based in the United States. 

USAID ESP mission is to enhance Ukraine’s energy security, improve the energy legal and regulatory environment in the country, and increase the resilience of Ukraine’s energy supply. This will help to support the country’s economic development and sustain its democracy. Tetra Tech is working closely with the Government of Ukraine to develop competitive energy markets. By doing so, USAID ESP will facilitate private sector-led energy investments to provide affordable, reliable, resilient, and secure energy for all Ukrainians. This project is currently in the fifth year of implementation and will run through June 2025. 

Tetra Tech is seeking a Bilingual Editor/Technical Writer - Ukraine (Ukrainian language) independent consultant to support ESP under the USAID. This is an independent consulting engagement estimated to be about 182 days. Finalization of the consultant agreement is subject to USAID approval. 

Scope:

  • Edit the whole spectrum of the project materials in Ukrainian and English, including news, articles, releases, briefers, technical reports, and other.
  • Join project events and meetings with Ukrainian counterparts and draft the related news for the project website and social media platforms.
  • Contribute to the content production pipeline of the communication team.
  • Develop at least one success story per month on ESP energy activities and their impact on Ukraine’s resilience during and following the war.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degrees in linguistics, journalism, international relations, engineering or another related field.
  • 3 years of relevant work experience in technical writing and editing technical materials.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Fluency in English and demonstrated skills in technical writing and editing.
  • Native fluency in Ukrainian.
  • Strong quality assurance skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience writing content on energy within the context of international development.
  • Experience working on international development projects funded by USAID or other international donor agencies.
  • Experience in using graphics programs.
  • Excellent organization and prioritizing skills.
  • Extreme precision and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with individuals at all levels.
