This position will be based in Dnipro, with frequent travel across the oblast. 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Community Health Promoter will play a key role in addressing health, sexual and reproductive health (SRH), and mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) concerns in displaced and war-affected communities. Responsibilities include data collection, conducting awareness sessions, and facilitating referrals for individuals with urgent needs. The role also encompasses updating service mapping, identifying community-level health and protection issues, and organizing awareness-raising activities. As a Community Health Promoter, you will focus on a range of health issues, including non-communicable diseases, chronic diseases, outbreaks, promoting healthy lifestyles, and more.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Visiting communities in the predefined area to identify health and other issues, as well as conducting necessary health needs assessments.

Collecting data and information through individual interviews, key informant interviews, and direct observation.

Updating health service mapping consistently in your designated area of work.

Support in Coordinating activities related to different health topics.

Referring individuals in need of additional services to relevant service providers using safe referral procedures.

Conducting awareness-raising sessions to sensitize populations about their rights and access to health and other related services within catchment areas.

Identifying themes that require the organization of awareness-raising activities.

Contributing to defining and updating the health promotion strategy.

Analyzing and understanding the health-seeking behavior of the local population.

Providing regular reports on the progress of outreach activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a preference for candidates with a medical/paramedical and/or educational background.

A minimum of one year of prior experience, particularly in data collection, community engagement, and health promotion.

Comfort and experience in public performance, as well as facilitating community engagement sessions, are essential.

Fluency in Ukrainian and Russian is required, and basic knowledge in English is desirable.

Proficiency in IT skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is essential for tasks such as data collection, mapping updates, and providing detailed weekly reports on outreach activities.

REPORTING LINES

Position reports to Senior Health Officer.

Closely collaborate with Infection Prevention Control and Health Promotion Officer, as well as other members of the health team.
