University Information Systems (UIS) provides technical services and enterprise applications to the University of Colorado campuses and the Office of the President. UIS is committed to excellence in customer service and technical expertise. Through the development of enterprise applications, UIS supports the University as a whole with systems used by students, faculty, human resources employees, finance employees, and others. 


The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist position exists to assist in the development and implementation of quality test scripts and documentation in compliance with the overall QA Methodology for UIS student administration systems including portal and mobile delivery. This position works in collaboration with the QA team, student administration team, and UIS management to ensure that developed services have been tested thoroughly and meet the required deliverables and quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support creation and preparation of test plans and test scripts 
  • Adheres to all established timelines 
  • Communicate, organize and report application deficiencies to application developers 
  • Assist in the planning, design, and execution of functional, performance, regression test scripts using various MicroFocus testing tools 
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the QA Assistant Director

System Administration, which also houses the Office of the President, is located in the uptown neighborhood of Denver with an office in Broomfield and a few smaller offices located on the campuses. What we offer: 

Salary: The salary range for this position is $48,000 - $52,000.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Computer Sciences, Information Systems, or other related fields, or equivalent work experience. 
  • At least 1+ years relevant work experience in Enterprise IT, including the following:
    • Developing or assisting in creation of test case scenarios 
    • Documentation of test results, process, and metrics 
    • Tracking and logging project issues/defects and escalate as needed 
    • Experience with all phases of software testing (functional, integration, regression, user acceptance and release management).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of web technologies such as HTML/DOM, Javascript, CSS, AJAX 
  • Experience with an ERP system such as Oracle PeopleSoft including HCM/FIN, Campus Solutions and Portal 
  • Experience with an issue tracking software such as Cherwell, JIRA or ServiceNow 
  • Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies
