The Edelman Business Marketing Team is a group within the Corporate practice focused on driving reputational and business results specifically for B2B brands utilizing a mix of communications and marketing strategies.

We work closely with our clients to engage consumers, drive conversions, deepen customer loyalty, and enable sales. Our team members have expertise spanning disciplines including digital marketing, lead generation, content creation, paid media and ad buying, public relations, and customer communications. We employ fully integrated programs that achieve long-term client goals and vision by earning trust, shaping perception, and developing commercial pipelines.

Our team provides counsel, strategy, and support across a number of B2B capabilities, including:

— B2B marketing strategy development

— Audience segmentation and targeting

— Lead nurturing, scoring, and management

—Creative content development

— Thought leadership and editorial storytelling

— Paid media strategy

— Marketing operations systems use and integration

— Performance and perceptional analytics

— Social media strategy and engagement

— Sales enablement and support

Responsibilities:

  • The Vice President is an integral part of the Edelman Business Marketing team and within the broader Edelman network, serving as a direct contact for clients and managing the delivery of complex integrated assignments. Working closely with staff at all levels, the Vice President must be a relationship builder, mentor, and coach, and must exhibit strong working knowledge of comms and marketing strategies and tactics. Specific responsibilities include: 
  • Contribute to creation of integrated PR, marketing, and communications plans that meet B2B client objectives and are reflective of current marketplace challenges and opportunities
  • Help plan and coordinate programming that drives demand by integrating traditional earned media with paid, social, and owned media efforts as well as sales outreach/lead generation 
  • Serve as primary day-to-day contact for clients, managing multiple projects from conception to completion, anticipating challenges, and ensuring deadline and budget adherence 
  • Build relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels 
  • Consistently produce high-quality internal and external communications content 
  • Adapt seamlessly to evolving client requests 
  • Autonomously and effectively drive and manage projects across workstreams, accounts, and business units 
  • Manage end-to-end account financials, from scope alignment and planning to forecasting and identifying growth opportunities
  • Manage integrated teams aligned with clients’ needs and scopes of work, defining roles and responsibilities as well as managing performance expectations
  • Supervise junior staff by motivating, coaching, and consistently providing feedback 
  • Aid in new business processes including idea contribution, research, and proposal preparation 
  • Commit to continuous learning; set and pursue stretch goals aligned with team and business objectives 
  • Champion quality in how we deliver insights, results, and counsel to clients

Basic Qualifications:

  • at least 8+ years of relevant experience in B2B marketing or a related field including digital marketing, lead generation, media buying, advertising, or research 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong professional character, defined by a proven ability to work enthusiastically and collaboratively within a team and by a clear sense of accountability for the delivery of client impact and agency business results
  • Proven experience in working with B2B brands and reaching B2B audiences
  • Knowledge of key platforms and channels for B2B marketing, including but not limited to social media, paid media, email, and others, with emphasis on how they complement each other 
  • Understanding of demand generation strategy and tactics, as well as how those tactics shape perception, create preference, and drive conversions on the consumer path to purchase 
  • Solid research, response, and reporting skills in the context of lead gen metrics (understanding of CPL, CPM, CPC) 
  • Exhibited ability to work on multiple accounts, assignments, and/or work streams 
  • Demonstrated ability to impart knowledge to more junior team members 
  • Strong research, writing, editing, and client interaction skills 
  • Natural curiosity and willingness to drive flexibly into various roles on client work
