Position Overview

Customer Consultant in the Research Management team is responsible for informing values of Research Management Solutions such as Scopus, SciVal, Pure, to existing customers, which eventually leading to renewal sales, in the assigned territory within Japan.

 

 

Key Result Areas

 

1: Revenue responsibility for renewal sales

·         Identify upsell sales opportunities as well as cancel risk

·         Develop the retention sales strategy

·         Meet retention sales target

 

 

2: Value-based selling

·         Become expert on key industry topics such as research assessment, bibliometrics, university rankings, competitive grants

·         Conduct in-depth analysis of existing customers to show value of our solutions

·         Propose ways to meet customer’s desired outcome by using our solutions

·         Create and do presentations to convey the value of solutions

 

3: Relationship Management

·         Develop sustainable relationship with all relevant decision makers, including senior management of universities/research institutes

·         Frequent communications with customers including business trips

 

4: Thought leadership

·         Help position Elsevier as the leading company in the field of research management

Required Education and Experience

·         Bachelor's degree required.  Master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred

·         Working experiences (minimum of 5 years)
