Software Engineer, Full-Stack

As a full-stack Software Engineer at LimeBike, you will be building the core technology that powers our fleet of connected bikes and makes them readily available to anyone looking to move around. We’re young and we are growing fast. As we are launching our service quickly across the nation, you’ll do anything from designing backend systems that can process boatloads of requests from our IoT devices and consumer-facing apps, to enhancing our suite of operational tools that enable our distributed team to deploy and maintain bikes efficiently. You’ll be working alongside a group of engineers, designers, and PMs from top-tier schools and with experience building systems and apps at companies like Facebook, Twitter, and Square.

Responsibilities

  • Develop robust web applications that serve both our user-facing apps and our internal tools
  • Be willing to pick up new programming languages and frameworks on the fly and help out where needed
  • Closely monitor the performance of all critical parts of our stack and be able to respond to system failures
  • Be diligent about tracking data so that we will have good visibility into how to improve our products
  • Work cross-functionally with our talented team of designers, product managers, and operators
  • Get your hands dirty by regularly riding our bikes and documenting any bugs or feature requests

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science from a top engineering school, or equivalent technical background
  • 2+ years experience in the industry, via internships or full-time positions
  • Fluency in at least one web framework, such as Ruby on Rails
  • Experience working with relational databases

Nice to haves

  • Have worked on early stage consumer facing products and experienced full product development cycle
  • Familiarity with AWS services like RDS, Redshift, S3, CloudWatch
  • Experience using front-end Javascript frameworks such as React.js
  • Experience working with mapping technologies and geospatial data
