As a member of the IT Quality Engineering (QE) team in the Information Technology Department, the Intern SW Quality Engineering will be responsible for testing Genomic Health QMS (Quality Management System) releases. He/ She will create and execute manual test cases, run the automated test suites and document results following established policies and procedures.

 

The Intern will report to Sr. Manager Quality Engineering within Information Technology organization.

  • Assist with quality assurance activities for web-based QMS software releases – review requirements, write test cases, perform testing, prepare summary reports.
  • Assist with documentation of QE processes and procedures.
  • Represent QE team within QMS project team.
  • Act as a QE liaison for all QMS related projects.
  • Provide regular status reports, submit bugs and drive them through completion.

REQUIRED:

  • New or current college student.
  • Thorough knowledge of computer systems, including Windows operating system, web applications, databases and end-user applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to learn complex commercial systems.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong communicator with ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, managers, and customers, as needed.
  • Able to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner.
  • Able to prioritize and drive to results with a high emphasis on quality.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
- Standing or sitting for long periods of time may be necessary
- Some lifting (greater than 25 pounds) may be necessary. Facilities, Materials, and Engineering team members occasionally must lift at least 50-75 pounds.
- May be exposed to hazardous materials, tissue specimens, and instruments with moving parts, lasers, heating and freezing elements, and high speed centrifugation. (Generally Laboratory and Customer Service workers only.)
- Repetitive manual pipetting may be necessary.  (Lab workers only.)
