OVERVIEW: A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF YOUR DEPARTMENT

Crackle Development chooses the projects that will be made into Crackle Originals.  We take the pitches, read the prospective pilots and shepherd the projects through our system on the way to becoming Features, Hour Dramas, and/or Half Hour Comedies.

The Intern is in a unique position to see and be a part of the entire process of creating a television show, from initial idea through development, production, post, marketing and launch.  Witnessing this process firsthand is an invaluable opportunity for anyone aspiring to work in the television industry.

     

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read scripts, write analyses, and sit in on departmental update meetings
  • Work on special projects regarding building up viewership for the Network
  • Learn about the television process from beginning to end, from the original concept through the script phase into the ways that we turn those scripts into tv shows and movies
  • Learn pitches, maintain relationships with agents and managers

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Enrollment in an accredited college/university for the duration of the internship
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong interest in reading and analyzing scripts
  • Gatekeeper for incoming projects, telling us which are potentially good for Crackle and which we don’t need to spend additional time considering
  • General knowledge of trends in the television industry is helpful

SPE INTERN PROGRAM DETAILS:

The Sony Pictures Entertainment Internship program offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. These seasonal paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that allow you to build your resume, experience and develop your skills further. You will be provided with challenging tasks, real-world experience, valuable networking opportunities, and many educational and social opportunities while on the lot.

This Spring internship is from Tuesday, January 9th or Wednesday, January 17th through May 4, 2018. All candidates must be able to work 10-29 hours a week with respect to their school schedule and be enrolled in an accredited degree program for the entire duration of their internship.
