SUMMARY
The Small Engine Repair Associate is responsible for the overall operation and success of the small engine/ lawnmower repair department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose, adjust, repair or overhaul small engines used in lawnmowers, chainsaws, and related equipment
- Able to drive ¾ ton truck and 16’ trailer on a regular basis
- Pick up and drop off of customers equipment in a neat and professional manner
- Work within company programs, policies and procedures
- Promote and support established programs
- Communicate with and receive product from approved vendors
- Operate a forklift
- Follows safety policies and procedures; is a safety role model
- Other duties assigned
- During slow or off-season technician will be asked to work in one of our ACE Hardware retail locations. This would be temporary if at all and determined by work load

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
- One to three months related experience and/or training;
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write warranty claims and service tickets.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Basic math concepts such as addition, subtraction, division, multiplication.
