Job Posting: Associate, International Corporate Banking Associate (FC5)

Purpose of Role:

The Associate, International Corporate Banking provides relationship management to a portfolio of International Corporate Banking (ICB) clients, including key business introducers (KBIs) and large corporate transactional business clients. The incumbent support other ICB Managers in the execution of their duties, including research for potential clients and tracking opportunities in the pipeline. The incumbent has responsibility for organic growth of their portfolio and supports revenue growth of the unit’s non-interest income business via selling of the Bank’s transaction products and services. The Associate, International Corporate Banking manages client portfolios that are smaller in scale and complexity than that of a Manager, International Corporate Banking.

KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Provides support to other Managers, including sourcing new ICB clients and fostering high quality business opportunities with existing clients to make day-to-day banking easier to make day-to-day banking easier and achieve annual growth targets for the unit’s non-interest income business.
  • Monitors, reviews & grows the assigned client portfolio of key business introducers (KBIs) and large corporate transactional business clients, building and broadening the scope of the client relationship to contribute to increased revenue generation and the maintenance of the unit’s non-interest income business through world class relationship management.
  • Identifies & determines client requirements and offers solutions to them, recognizing ‘buying signals’, knowing when to refer to a manager or introduce them to a specialist area to create opportunities for increased ‘wallet share’ through cross-selling opportunities and working with key stakeholders to create business opportunities.
  • Drafts credit and lending proposals, which may be complex in nature, for review by and to support the managers, for further submission to CRM to ensure credit applications are completed accurately and completely to enable first time review / approval in a timely manner and ensure proposals address the risk issues involved and how they may be mitigated while keeping in mind the nature of the client base.
  • Supports managers with the day-to-day sales administration activities including research on prospective clients, identification of new areas of opportunity, as well as supporting the updating of customer relationship management systems. To ensure that all sales administration activities are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Resolves client escalations and ensures that clients are successfully transitioned to the CBSC for account opening and account servicing to support internal partners in maintaining positive customer relationship.
  • Attends luncheons, business meetings, and other industry functions and assists with planning and coordinating marketing approaches for new and existing business relationships to strengthen existing and potential business relationships and gain industry knowledge.

Knowledge/Skill Requirement:

  • Understanding FirstCaribbean offerings in terms of sales and service.
  • Knowledge of the bank’s products and services, channel functionality and applicability to customer requirements.
  • Knowledge of the bank’s customer service standards and processes (what level of service should be provided to the customer).
  • Knowledge of roles and responsibilities within the branch in order to direct inquiries and /or referrals to the most appropriate branch personnel.
  • Knowledge of job-specific processes and related computer applications, e.g. ABT, Microsoft office
  • Good organizational skills. The ability to effectively manage time.
  • Good numeric skills to balance bulk cash holdings and bulk currency accounts.
  • Cash handling including use of the cash counting machine

Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in a customer service role
  • Exposure to / experience in general banking and risk management.
  • Focused on being fully up to date on the product offering and have a strong awareness of the other functions and products marketed through the Bank.
  • Experience of (or at least be totally at ease) with clients from differing social, religious, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, and dealing with senior officials and executives of corporate entities.
  • Basic knowledge of KYC, client acceptance and AML/ATF rules and requirements specific to ICB and modern risk and control management in banking.
  • Experience and / or awareness of complex multi-layered corporate structures, covering different types of corporate entities and the key industries serviced by International Corporate Banking.
  • Graduate status
