Duties: A position is currently available for a highly motivated individual as a Resource Technologist A within the CRISPR/Cas9 Mouse Targeting Core in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, which main mission is to streamline procedures that facilitate investigators' use of the CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing technology for the rapid and economic generation of novel mouse genetic tools. The position will involve techniques including, but not limited to, isolation of genomic DNA for genotyping purposes, PCR, molecular cloning, sequencing, CRISPR/Cas9 reagents preparation (e.g. Cas9 mRNA, gRNA, ssDNA, dsDNA). Additional responsibilities will include organizing/ordering materials and reagents for the core, dealing with vendors, and sharing laboratory maintenance duties.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required; 1 to 2 years of experience preferred. The successful applicants will preferably have a strong background in undergrad research in biological fields and should have excellent organizational and communication skills.
