About the Position

Title:                                   Design/Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op

Type:                                  Co-Op, part time, 6-12 months

Number of Positions:       1

Reports to:                        Engineering Manager

Location:                           Canton, SD

Work Eligibility:                Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Work closely with Engineering and production to create, update, revise and modify drawings related to truck configurations, and sheet metal design.
  • Complete Bill of Materials and Routings utilizing ERP System.
  • Utilize 2D/3D CAD equipment to generate computer drawings.
  • Execute changes (internal and external) through the identified change order process.
  • Follow the specified design procedure, design review procedure, and as built correction procedures.
  • Examine electronic drawings to develop, and verify specifications and drafting data such as configuration of parts, dimensions and tolerances.
  • Operate file management software for the storage and retrieval of design information.
  • Offer design improvement techniques to increase productivity and quality and reduce costs.
  • Minimum sophomore year standing as of Spring 2018 at an accredited 4 year university/college
  • Minimum of a cumulative GPA of 3.0 required to submit to Terex Career Database
  • 2D/3D CAD Experience (Solid Works, Auto Cad, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, e.g. welding, fabrication, laser or plasma cutting, hydraulics, etc. (preferred)
  • Ability to speak, write and read the English language.
