This position is for a Full Stack Software Development entry level role in the Verizon Global Network & Technology organization. In this role you’ll be responsible for assisting in all components of an application stack, which is all of the technologies that are needed for full project life cycle work. The full stack developer will handle the entire pipeline and understands all of the technologies that make up the combined enterprise framework.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Working with clients to gather requirements and recommend possible solutions to business initiatives.
  • Scripting, coding, and testing all the components of the product, utilizing the necessary programming languages.
  • Testing to ensure the product meets the requirements of the business, identifying issues and escalating them to developers.
  • Resolving issues that occur within the programming when possible, escalating to the developers when necessary.
  • Providing updates to the business and internal teams on project status, proposals, or technical issues.

You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.

In this hybrid full time position, you’ll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager. This hybrid role will be based out of Irving, TX.

You’ll need to have:

  • Currently enrolled at the University of Texas - Dallas and attending the career event on February 28, 2024.
  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree majoring in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science or related majors with a completion date of June 2024.
  • Coursework or demonstrated experience in Python, Java and C++.
  • Coursework or demonstrated experience in cloud-based systems and architecture.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
  • Willingness to travel and work in Irving, TX. 

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Demonstrated strong written and communication skills.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
  • Ability to work with/in back-end framework (e.g. Express, Flask, Ruby).
  • Ability to work with/in front end framework (e.g. React.js, Ember, Vue).
  • Ability to work with/in Web Development (ex: Frameworks, browsers, and embedded applications).
  • Ability to work with/in QA, automation tools, and/or Secure SW development cycle.
