As a Data Engineer within AXA Partners Data Office's Big Data & Analytics team, your primary role is to guarantee seamless accessibility, industrialization, and documentation of pertinent data in Big Data environments. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the Data Target Architecture components, aligning with AXA's overarching Data Strategy. Your responsibilities extend to implementing and optimizing production data flows for the Datalake, and offering support, guidance, and training to engineers across decentralized Data Teams.

At AXA Partners we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. This role will be based in Barcelona, with at least 2 days per week at the local office.

Key Responsabilities

  • Enhance and implement data engineering standards, procedures, processes, and operational guidelines for targeted data components.
  • Contribute to the definition of the data roadmap in collaboration with other teams/customers.
  • Develop and automate ingestion flows, refine data curation, and optimize access layers.
  • Sustain the upkeep of data treatments within the Lake.
  • Provide assistance to Business Units (BU) and local data teams, ensuring smooth utilization of the data lake.

Qualifications

Must have

  • 3 years of hands-on experience in managing and operating Big Data environments, specializing in data engineering and analytics projects within large, culturally diverse organizations.
  • Proficient in English, with exceptional language skills.
  • Expertise in multiple development languages, including Scala, Powershell, SQL, and Python.
  • In-depth understanding of the Data stack, particularly in Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
  • Familiarity with the software development process, including version control (Git), continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
  • Proficient in Azure Datalake and possesses initial knowledge of Azure Cloud.
  • Strong knowledge about Business Intelligence systems, specifically Power BI.
  • Demonstrates an entrepreneurial, team-oriented, and proactive mindset, capable of working independently with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering effective solutions.
  • Demonstrates creativity, innovation, and tech savvy. Customer-focused and adaptable, operates with an Agile mindset in a global, multicultural setting.
