JOB SUMMARY: 

The role of the Communications Specialist is to support United Bank’s efforts to deliver timely and strategic communications that effectively reach the Bank’s target audiences. The Communications Specialist will align and support communications activity to create consistent, clear communications that reinforce why United is the bank of choice for all those it serves. In addition, the Communications Specialist will expertly research, create and support the distribution of messaging from the company to its intended audiences in a dynamic environment with accuracy, timeliness and brand consistency, and track/report on all results regularly. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under the guidance of the VP, Director of Communications, support the execution of the Bank’s communications strategy 
  • Create and distribute press materials and other external communications on behalf of the department 
  • Maintain and enhance Communications tools and resources 
  • Support editorial content calendar creation/integration efforts across digital/marketing, social media and communications 
  • Support the creation and execution of internal communications efforts (e.g., employee newsletter, team member engagement initiatives)
  • Work across the department to streamline and align messaging and support priority projects throughout the year 
  • Manage process for communications activity reporting 
  • Plan, attend and execute events as needed 

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in related area
  • Minimum of three (3) years communications/public relations experience required
  • Previous experience in a banking or financial industry preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Experience with Adobe Suite and SharePoint preferred
