Electrical Modeling and Simulation Product Marketing

We are seeking a proactive individual to drive our electrical modeling and simulation products deep into existing and new market areas. Built on top of our successful Simulink platform, Simscape enables engineers to intuitively model, simulate, and test complex physical systems and their controllers. You will be responsible for working with development teams and sales to market our products for electrical simulation. This is your opportunity to leverage your experience with semiconductors, motors, power conversion, battery management, and renewable energy systems. Join our product marketing team and help us set the trends for modeling and simulation in engineering and science worldwide.


You will:

  • Work closely with sales teams in support of sales opportunities and major programs for your product area.
  • Measure sales and pricing effectiveness for your products, initiate and develop plans to enhance penetration and growth.
  • Produce technical papers, articles, and user stories in support of the product area.
  • Create and maintain technical product examples.
  • Analysis web traffic and optimize web pages for readability and visibility.
  • Create product video and webinar content for the web site.
  • Work directly with key customers and MathWorks development teams to identify new product requirements.
  • Work with education sales to support professors and book authors in use of the products.
  • Plan and manage focused competitive analysis for your product area and develop positioning and response.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 5 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree) is required.

Additional Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a deep understanding of dynamic system modeling and simulation including a background in electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic system analysis. He or she must also possess the following:

  • Experience with Simulink
  • Candidates must be willing to travel up to 15% of the time
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Solid quantitative ability
  • Strong overall marketing, research, and planning skills and
  • Excellent customer interaction skills
  • Strong background in electrical or mechatronics is a plus

Requirements include a degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, control engineering or in a scientific field relevant to MATLAB or Simulink use, and at least 5+ years of professional experience (including 2+ years in marketing or technical sales).

Experience with Simulink or equivalent products is highly desirable. International experience is desired. Industry experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or related industries is also desired. MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
