Overview

Service Operations Tools (SOT) program is a part of Business Operations (BizOps) group within Mastercard, which is leading the DevOps transformation at Mastercard through our tooling and by being an advocate for change & standards throughout the development, quality, release, and product organizations. The team's mission is to obsess on the needs of Business operations group to automate operational activities, reduce manual toil and tie everything together through custom applications. Engineers working in this team are experts in software development and DevOps toolchain to build and continually enhance DevOps experience and productivity at Mastercard. Our program follows an iterative approach to development with teams located globally.

We are looking for a Senior Technical Program manager to drive our projects to customers with defined timelines and quality, Person who can manager few scrum teams to steer them to achieve the target. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset.

Role:

We are looking for experienced technical program management professionals to join our team and help us build towards the future. Our Technical Program Managers (TPM) conceptualize, rationalize, and drive multiple simultaneous projects to deliver engineering work across the portfolio in our scrum execution model. In this role, you get to dive as deep as you want into the tech stack, the integration patterns, the organizational capabilities, and the company wide assets that can be leveraged to provide technical solutions to customer problems. You will contribute to the strategies, design choices, and even the cloud infrastructure necessary to build comprehensive believable and achievable execution plans to deliver high-profile new features and capabilities for our customers. You may drive the execution of a feature through the full stack or may drive a project which spans multiple teams and integrations, reporting meaningful status along the way.

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • You are a hands-on, technical and people leader. You regularly dive deep into everything your team does.

  • You understand how to guide an engineer’s career including performance evaluation, coaching, and motivation. - Experience with software development methodologies, particularly with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Management skills to coach other co-workers utilizing strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Requires ability to provide overall business or technical project planning for product enhancements.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with independence and autonomy.
  • You are an experienced user of one or more Application Lifecycle Management tools (e.g., Rally, Jira).
  • Demonstrated experience breaking down problems, organizing work, planning sprints, and delivering technical programs in agile delivery models (scrum, Kanban, etc.)
  • Experience working on programs to define and build cloud-native software products as a platform at scale.
  • Enjoys diving deep to understand of the platform’s capabilities and underlying technologies.
  • Proven track record of data driven decision-making and applying continuous improvement methodologies across teams.
  • Demonstrated experience building relationships, partnering with and influencing dependent teams while commanding the respect of the individuals you work with across the organization.
  • Experience in Java/J2EE technologies with Spring boot framework, REST APIs, JSON, MongoDb or other NoSQL databases, Hibernate, Kafka Messaging, front end technologies (CSS, HTML, Angular8 or similar framework), Web & Application Server
