Business Function:

Group Strategic Marketing & Communications is responsible for building, protecting, and enhancing the DBS brand in an increasingly commoditised banking industry. Working closely with all units within the DBS Group, we create and execute integrated strategies that focus on communications especially digital communications, marketing and research to differentiate – and elevate – our brand from the rest of the competition.

Job Purpose:

DBS Sparks Studio is the dedicated in-house content production hub of DBS Bank. As an internal brand studio providing creative and technical services from brand storytelling to webcast productions, DBS Sparks Studio is a one-stop integral enabler for the bank’s content marketing and social media strategy. It is part of an integrated communications and marketing team designing narratives and driving creative approaches across marketing campaigns and internal communications.

As a core member of the DBS Sparks Studio team, the Senior Designer will augment the team’s capabilities in graphic design and uplift the creative standards in videography, photography, and livestream productions (including in-camera visual effects [ICVFX]). The ideal candidate will harness the latest in design trends and technological advancements, including Generative AI and virtual production, to propel our brand narrative forward. Through your vision and expertise, you will help Sparks Studio attain design excellence in marketing and communications deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Using AI-driven solutions, champion our brand’s design philosophy, establishing a cohesive visual identity across all media outputs that reflect our values and purpose.
  • Spearhead the integration of motion graphics into our design strategy, enhancing the dynamism and engagement of our content, bringing DBS stories to life.
  • Cultivate an environment of continuous learning and development, staying at the forefront of design innovation, including in the realms of motion graphics, virtual production and Generative AI.
  • Work closely with various functions in the Group Strategic Marketing & Communications’ (GSMC) unit, taking briefs on the graphics assets to be created, providing valuable inputs at the ideation stage, and formulate creative treatment as well as the execution and production of graphics assets end-to-end.
  • Craft and execute striking visual designs for a variety of communications channels, including EDMs, banners and graphics for social media posts.
  • Lead the conceptualisation and creation of motion graphics, bringing designs to life in engaging and innovative ways.
  • Implement brand guidelines meticulously across all creative outputs, ensuring consistency.
  • Harness data-driven insights to steer creative decisions, optimising content for maximum impact and engagement.
  • Work with the graphics team to share knowledge and expertise in design trends, techniques, and technologies, with a special emphasis on motion graphics, Generative AI and virtual production.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring high-quality output while adhering to deadlines.
  • Collaborate across Studio’s functions and the rest of GSMC to ensure a unified and strategic approach to content creation, from ideation to execution.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related field, with an emphasis on design and motion graphics.
  • At least 8 years of professional design experience, with 5+ years in a creative leadership role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.
  • Expertise in creating motion graphics and 3D modelling/animation in software such as Cinema 4D and Blender.
  • Understanding of virtual environment design with Unreal Engine to enable virtual productions and ICVFX.
  • Solid portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design work, including static and motion graphics.
  • Able to work under the pressure of tight deadlines.
  • Social media native with understanding of audience and content consumption data to support the creative decision-making process.
  • Passionate about emerging design trends, technologies and methodologies, with a keen interest in Generative AI and its application in design.
  • Data-savvy with a proven track record of leveraging analytics to inform and validate design strategies.
