Advisory Analysts are the primary point of contact for European Investor Relations departments to help them understand the composition of their shareholder base. Analysts are expected to deliver timely shareholder analysis reports and insights on the financial markets, providing additional capital markets information, whilst also dealing effectively with ad-hoc requests. Analysts are responsible for managing key clients, supporting more junior team members, engaging in thought leadership and providing input into product development/quality improvement.
  • Gather all relevant data to complete shareholder analysis process; analyze and interpret data from multiple sources to identify accurate shareholder positions, summarize key movements and trends across the shareholder base.
  • Provide additional analysis and commentary around peer performance, fundamental data, macro factors and fund flows to help clients understand why shareholder movements have occurred.
  • After delivering a shareholder analysis report, follow up via phone to ensure client fully understands data and answer any questions on content/recent changes across the shareholder base.
  • Engage in regular proactive outreach via phone and email to ensure client is aware of important developments in the sector and to share relevant thought leadership and insights.
  • Understand the client's Investor Relations work-flow to ensure our service is aligned with their needs.
  • Leverage industry knowledge/experience to suggest improvements to our Advisory offerings, working closely with Product Development team
  • Engage with global colleagues to share knowledge across geographic teams.
  • Create and participate in thought leadership via white-papers, web-casts and live events.

  • A degree in Business, Finance or Economics is preferable; industry qualifications such as CFA, ACCA, IMC are also valuable.
  • The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of Investor Relations, Institutional Investors and equity capital markets more generally.
  • Further, client management experience is a very important element of this role and so prior experience in a customer services/relationship management is preferred.
  • Many of our clients prefer communication in languages other than English. Therefore, fluent skills in Russian, German and/or French are beneficial.
  • The often data-heavy nature of the day-to-day role means that excellent MS Excel skills are a must.
  • This is a client-facing role and so an appreciation of the need for excellent customer service is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills: The ability to work with large amounts of data, identifying most relevant issues, spotting trends or anomalies and interpreting their meaning. Strong quantitative reasoning skills are required.
  • An important part of the job is writing executive summaries which form the core of the client deliverable. Therefore, a strong command of English grammar and the ability to translate key data points into written form is essential. Analysts also have regular phone conversations with clients so strong verbal English communication skills are critical.
  • Problem-solving skills: Senior Analysts should have demonstrable experience in pro-actively addressing and resolving complex problems- this is a skill which is important in managing their own clients, but also supporting more junior team members.
  • Time-management skills: Senior Analysts regularly manage competing priorities during busy periods. Therefore, the ability to identify and prioritise critical tasks, remain calm in pressurized situations and use quieter periods effectively is essential.
  • Attention to detail: We are known for the high-quality of our deliverables. Therefore, analysts must have excellent attention to detail and the ability to quickly identify and resolve any errors.
  • Strong collaboration skills: We operate in a team environment where knowledge and work is shared regularly between team members. It is critical for analysts to build and maintain strong and effective relationships with their colleagues, including sales and account management teams, as well as analysts in other global teams.
