Dignity Health Medical Group – Ventura County a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation is a multi-specialty clinic with seven locations in Ventura County including Camarillo Oxnard and Thousand Oaks. Along with our local affiliated Dignity Health hospitals (St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital and St. John’s Regional Medical Center) we offer an integrated care delivery system that provides high quality compassionate care in family medicine internal medicine infectious disease OB/GYN hematology and oncology neurology pediatrics and rheumatology.

Responsibilities

  • Please note: This is a non-benefitted position working Mondays and Wednesdays.

Position Summary:

The Medical Scribe transcribes the physician's dictation into accurate typed reports is responsible for detecting any discrepancies in the dictation investigating editing accordingly and submitting completed typed reports for review and approval by the physician.

The Medical Scribe is periodically responsible for searching for patient reports in Speech Q Work Administration module typing the reports into Amicas and submitting for review the completed reports to the medical provider for approval. Periodiclly the transcriptionist also is asked to generate work flow reports in Speech Q.

The Medical Scribe may also be asked to perform other clerical duties as needed and requested to support daily clinic operation goals bench marks and quality patient care initiatives per departmental guidelines. May be required to occasionally work at other locations within the Ventura market as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two (2) year's experience as a Transcriber preferred; or an equivalent amount of experience in Medical transcription in a high volume hospital or outpatient environment and knowledge of billing and coding practices.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Expert medical terminology is essential.
  • Keyboarding skills and the ability to utilize computer equipment and software are required as is experience with other types of standard office equipment.
  • Transcribe and edit quickly with precision.
