Summary:

The main function of a non-IT project manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as engineering, research and development, financial systems and product roll-out, etc or any other non-IT based project. Job

Responsibilities:

Coordinate projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities. Present and explain proposals, reports and findings to clients. Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence. Analyze technology, resource needs and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects. Confer with management, production and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures. Review and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimates. Direct, review and approve product designs and changes. Consult or negotiate with clients to prepare project specifications.

Expert leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback. Expert knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Expert knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods. Expert knowledge of computer software, such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio etc.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field. PMI or PMP certification preferred. 10+ years experience required.

  • Manages large projects with complex business and technology components, working in concert with senior leadership, business, IT and other project stakeholders to meet the business value and objectives of the program.
  • Assists staff in maintaining constant communication with customers, both internal and external, to facilitate project tasks and troubleshooting to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Effectively deals with evolving and competing objectives and possess a mastery of project management tools. Will work with core and extended project team members to develop and maintain the overall project plan along with the timelines, deliverables, and key milestones.
  • Must be able to work independently, show good analytical/problem solving skills and have the ability to navigate in environments with a high degree of ambiguity.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with a variety of project management methodologies and is able to incorporate aspects of both traditional and agile approaches to project management.
  • Ten (10) years of experience managing a similar project of equal or greater scope required. Preferred to have extensive healthcare project management experience, with strong preference for previous experience in administering pharmacy benefits.
  • PMP preferred
  • Experience with State Medicaid implementations/programs preferred.
  • Position can be remote, from anywhere in the US. Core hours are 9-4 EST with some flexibility required to support clients and colleagues in multiple time zones.
