Global Sr. Instructional Designer

Location: Maplewood, MN (Mostly Remote)

Job Description Summary

As a Global Sr. Instructional Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing a wide range of learning solutions, both internally and externally for the Safety & Industrial Business Group (SIBG) marketing community and customers. You will also partner with our Division and Area teams to ensure the creation of engaging and effective customer education aligned to go-to-market models. Internally, your focus will be on creating learning solutions to upscale marketing skills and competencies for our SIBG marketing community.

• Designing and developing on demand, virtual and instructor-led courses, videos, simulations, tests and certifications, and related online reference materials to internal teams and/or customers based on project and deliverable guidelines.
• Creating outlines, storyboards, lesson plans, videos and/or scripts, using the latest technologies and tools, based on project deliverables.
• Managing multiple projects and completing deliverables for all project phases (analysis / scoping, design, development, and implementation) as implemented thru our process and design standards.
• Create regional and area localized versions of courses from global content (coordinate with country and regional stakeholders).
• Aligning content to confirm workability with respect to adult learning principles, considering stakeholder, our brand, copyright, and legal and regulatory requirements.

Your Skills and Expertise

• Five or more years of experience in instructional design
• Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited university

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Strong foundation in and ability to apply adult learning concepts, hands-on learning practices, and objectives-based instructional approaches.
• Excellent verbal and written skills, both for projects and working with project teams discussing and negotiating deliverables.
• Expert-level instructional development skills, with significant experience creating a wide variety of high-quality products, including most of the following areas:
• Interactive courses using Articulate 360
• Production of professional audio, voiceovers, graphics and video;
• Other forms of virtual and live training materials, including: student and facilitator materials, web/html content, simulations, guides, quick references, slicks, manuals, online help and other digital resources
• Expert-level familiarity with industry standard development tools including: Adobe Suite, Articulate, Microsoft Office and HTML (coding)
• Ability to complete tasks and projects independently and according to specified deliverables and timelines.
• Experience working within a center of excellence for a large organization
• Ability to coach, develop and lead others.
