  • 8C Medical 
  • Surgical Observation Unit
  • BASE RATE & SHIFT DIFFERENTIALS FOR CSR STAFF NURSE TEMPS:

Wage: $45.00/hr base rate

Evening Shift Differential is $5.00 per hour for 3p-7p and $4.00 per hour for 7p-11p

Night Shift Differential is $ 3.00 per hour

Weekend Differential is $5.00 per hour

Responsibilities*

Provide nursing care to a variety of patients, young adult to elderly.

Floating among the Adult General units requires familiarity with multiple medical diagnoses: GI medicine, Pulmonary, Rheumatology, Hematology, and Oncology, Trauma/Orthopedic Surgery, Neurology/Neurosurgery, Infectious Disease, Nephrology, Renal Transplant, Otolaryngology, Endocrine/Plastic and Oral Surgery, Family Medicine, and Dermatology.

Required Qualifications*

  • Must have a current Michigan Registered Nurse License.
  • Two (2) or more years recent RN experience in their area of expertise.

Desired Qualifications*

BSN preferred

Demonstrates expertise in communication and problem solving skills within all levels of the health care team, as evidenced by interviews, documentation, writing skills, and references. Experience floating to multiple units helpful. Ability to work in a team atmosphere utilizing effective delegation skills.

Demonstrated problem solving skills.

Demonstrates accountability and dependability as evidenced by completion of mandatories and unit based competencies within an established time frame.

Experience floating to multiple units.

Knowledge of the University of Michigan Hospital nursing policies and practice.

Demonstrates participation in continuous quality improvement process with documented results.

Takes initiative in seeking professional growth.

Proficient computer skills.

Work Schedule

  • Commitment is 36 hours per 4 week scheduling block**

12 HR BLOCKS AVAILABLE, based on the cluster staffing needs
