Forvia is looking for a short-term (approximately 6-months) Compliance Intern for the Auburn Hills, MI location.

The main mission of the Compliance Analyst/Process & Technology: 

You will take responsibility for assisting the US Compliance team on the management of the compliance program, development and implementation of compliance policies and creation of effective action plans in response to audit discoveries.

To do well in this role will you need a very fine eye for detail, experience in the related fields compliance, legal, internal control, internal audit, controlling and s deep understanding of compliance risks, procedures, practices.

Overall, you will assist the Compliance department to develop company compliance communications and to maintain legal and regulatory compliance by coordinating required compliance trainings. 

Responsibilities:

  • Work to provide an independent second line of defense approach on compliance risks-based evaluation
  • Analyze, quantify, assess risks and evaluate controls by providing input over control effectiveness and identifying potential weaknesses and/or control gaps
  • Identify need for compliance communication and education programs
  • Review compliance recent regulations and different sources of information to maintain regulatory knowledge
  • Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal control, internal audit and risks
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in compliance, data analytics, internal control, or audit; master’s degree preferred
  • Work experience of compliance, data analytics, risk management, and/or audit with a strong focus on risks and controls and risk-based auditing techniques
  • Understanding of compliance tools and other databases to provide recommendations based on data assessment
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret complex documents and policies
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to assess potential risks and to translate business requirements into non-technical communications
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding research, problem solving, coordination and interpersonal skills
  • Solid time management and organizational skills to be able to meet deadlines
  • Strong moral code and sense of ethics
  • Fluent in English required additional languages will be beneficial (French/Spanish/Portuguese)
