The Media Processing Group (MPG) produces graphics hardware and software products for mobile and embedded devices. Our product portfolio includes GPU, Display and Video IP and our Mali™ Graphics Processor is the world’s #1 shipping GPU. We are looking for an engineer with a strong interest in graphics technology for the PPA Team at ARM Norway in Trondheim. In the PPA Team we analyse the performance of our graphics products with the mission to improve the products to reach maximum performance potential. The role involves cooperating with different HW and SW teams in Europe, Asia and USA, as well as customers throughout the world.

ARM GPUs are used by major suppliers in the world market, and you will be a part of an international team creating the next generation of ARM technology.

What will I be accountable for?

  • Analyse performance and power consumption of GPUs in development
  • Implement microbenchmarks to stress test various parts of a GPU
  • Work with various HW and SW teams to improve performance tracking methodology
  • Develop tools for performance analysis and tracking

Job Requirements

What skills, experience and qualifications do I need?

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering Cybernetics or Electrical Engineering
  • An ability to understand complex, abstract problems
  • Practical, organized and analytical approach to work
  • Willingness and ability to contribute to process improvement initiatives
  • Professional manner including excellent written and verbal communication in English
  • Experience in 3D graphics technology and standards such as Vulkan or OpenGL ES
  • Programming skills in Python, C and C++
  • Knowledge of standard Linux tools, shell and version control systems such as git

About the office

The ARM Trondheim office focuses on expertise in graphics hardware, driver software, FPGA and ASIC implementation and performance analysis. Our office used to be a bank, and we now use the vault as a games room! Trondheim is a picturesque citylocated on the Trondheimsfjord and an excellent place to see the beautiful aurora borealis.
