IBM has flagged the Data Scientist: Cognitive Computing job as unavailable. Let’s keep looking.

Position Summary

This position will work independently and/ or with other APAC stakeholders to identify opportunities of applying statistical data models which bring out trends, outliers or opportunities to improve business processes. Develop data models for (including, not limited to) network optimization, inventory carrying, inventory placement, forecasting (UV, MV and ML algorithms), prescriptive analytics including inventory movement within network, transport lanes, forecast history cleansing.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Develop simulations and scenario models with qualitative and quantitative inputs.
  • Work with the internal ‘continuous improvement lead’, ‘automation and excellence lead’ to adapt processes to new ways of working post implementation of analytics recommendation
  • Will develop predictive and prescriptive capabilities along with a strong idea of cognitive techniques, their use cases and opportunities to implement them
  • Work to establish a connection with publicly available data sources as a basis of multivariate analysis. Identify lead and lag indicators and establish relationship between indicators and derivatives
  • Develop production-ready implementations of proposed solutions across different ML algorithms, including testing on live customer data to improve efficacy, and robustness
  • Create use cases with respect to domain for solving a business problem
  • Research and test novel machine learning approaches for analyzing large-scale distributed computing applications
  • Suggest innovative and creative concepts and ideas that would improve the overall platform
  • Large-scale data gathering, cleansing, and organization from multiple sources
  • Creation and application of statistical models and algorithms for data analysis and prediction
  • Utilizing data visualization techniques where necessary to clearly and concisely provide findings and insights to stakeholders
  • Handling both structured and unstructured data in preprocessing. Setting up models for data cleansing, segmentation
  • Identify opportunities within supply chain through proactively looking at various data (sales, inventory, spends etc) and use data models to interpret data and provide solutions
  • Providing approaches and techniques for dealing with corporate challenges
  • Creating and deploying machine learning models for a range of applications including product segmentation, scenario modelling and predictive maintenance
  • Keeping abreast of the most recent developments in data science and adopting new methods as necessary in your work
