HDR is looking for a Utility Operations Management Consultant to join our Water/Wastewater Program in Winston-Salem, NC. This position may also be based out of Raleigh/NC or Charlotte/NC. The primary will include responsibility for the development and implementation of water, wastewater, and stormwater asset management solutions to support utility operations, engineering, finance, and IT needs. They will be accountable for the success of project tasks. They will be expected to have a strong working knowledge of various database platforms, CMMS platforms, and GIS analysis tools. Previous experience must include a basic understanding of utility operation and maintenance activities including data collection, work order processing and work flow analysis, and exemplary asset management practices.
Bachelor’s degree in a professional, engineering, or related field.
3+ years of utility management experience required.
Must have a familiarity with system development life cycle, methodologies, requirements, report and application design,
Experience with Electronic Document Management Systems. Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, and GIS systems.
Position requires excellent communication skills related to business, project team coordination and project team building.
Knowledge of widely used CMMS Platforms (including Maximo, Infor Hansen, Infor EAM, Oracle WAM, Lucity, and Azteca Cityworks), and an understanding of database software including Microsoft Access, SQL Server, and ESRI GIS software.
Must be able to evaluate utilities’ asset management activities, including asset inventories, technology support criticality, condition and remaining useful life, repair and renewal needs, and cost projections.
Must have the ability to work with project managers/senior asset management consultants to analyze utilities’ operational business processes and decision support system solutions, perform consulting tasks associated with business process analysis, asset registers/inventories, criticality, condition assessment, and repair and renewal needs.
Must have experience with software requirements gathering and specification development, selecting business information system solutions and supporting software implementations.
Must be able to perform analysis of large utility GIS, maintenance, or condition assessment databases to support inspection, condition assessment, and planning programs.
Local candidates are preferred.
