ManTech’s Air Force and Space Division is recruiting highly talented candidates to support a contract that provides support to the United States Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC), Assured Access To Space (AATS) Directorate’s, National Security Space Launch (NSSL) Program. 

We assist the Space Force by supporting a multitude of areas, including Systems Engineering & Integration, Launch Operations, Acquisition & Program Management Support, Configuration and Data Management, Mission Integration Management, System Safety & Environmental Engineering, Systems Security & Information Assurance, Launch Schedule and Risk Management, and Certification of New Entrant Launch Vehicles. This support is critical to mission success of National Security Space (NSS) missions, as the Space Force enters an increasingly challenging launch environment.

ManTech is seeking a talented Project Engineer to join our Configuration Management, Data Management, and Data Architecture (CM/DM/DA) team in execution of an effective and comprehensive program for the Space Force NSSL Program located at Los Angeles Air Force base in El Segundo, California. Responsibilities:

  • Technical writing support for the CM/DM/DA team, drafting plans, processes, reports, and other needed documentation to support our government customer.
  • Draft operating instructions and training materials in support of the CM/DM/DA team.
  • Acquire and distribute technical and programmatic Contract Data Items (CDI) from each launch service provider (LSP) to the appropriate government evaluator(s).
  • Proactively engage and communicate with all CDI stakeholders to ensure on-time evaluation and response.
  • Track CDI deliverables from initial delivery through all close out actions.
  • Maintain CM/DM/DA status databases and deliver reports to management and any designated Contracting Officer.
  • Operate and manage the NSSL Program support library and data repository.
  • Improve CM/DM/DA engineering processes and procedures through value-added innovative thought and implementation.
  • Communicate in a timely and effective manner and establish a professional rapport with internal ManTech team members and our primary customer.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) or STEM discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Engineering Technical document development, Data Management, Configuration Management, or another relevant field or combination thereof.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a minimum Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance with eligibility to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of, or ability to learn, Google Mail and Drive.
  • Working knowledge of, or ability to learn, Jira and Confluence.
  • Process-oriented team player with fine attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior working experience with the United States Air Force (USAF), United States Space Force (USSF), or NSSL Program.
  • Experience with USAF/USSF requirements for technical writing, Configuration Management, Data Management, or another relevant field.
  • Previous launch vehicle system-related experience.
  • Ability to develop and professionally showcase presentations to internal ManTech employees, external mission partners, and our government customer.
  • Excellent communication and team building skills.
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to identify a problem and logically reason out a solution.
  • Familiarity or experience with LiveLink.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for, usually, at least 50% of the time.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer

The projected compensation range for this position is $110,800-$185,500. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
