Head of ANZ Fund Services Operations Delivery - Executive Director

As the Head of Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) Fund Services Operations Services Delivery in the Fund Services team, you will be responsible for providing clear transparent guidance and effective leadership, fostering team advancement by driving staff development initiatives and process enhancements. In your new role, you will be proficient with managing the Service Level Agreement (SLA) reporting and performance metrics of the team to ensure consistent operational excellence. You will be accountable to the Asia Pacific (APAC) Head of Fund Services Operations and ANZ Head of Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) Operations.

In your new role, you will be highly customer centric and lead by example to provide leadership across 5 high performing business operations functions, assuming a broad range of local and regional operational leadership responsibilities on a daily basis including;

  • Operational Service Delivery (OSD) leadership - overseeing a variety of Operations teams and managing client facing teams to ensure service delivery standards are maintained & successfully delivered to SLA commitments.
  • Financial Reporting, Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) and Tax - play a key role in ensuring accurate delivery of financial reporting, preparation of regulatory filings (APRA reporting) and tax.
  • Operational Oversight and Governance - ensuring appropriate oversight of all delegated activities and ensure governance and control frameworks are in line with all requirements and best practice.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensuring Service Delivery Management through proper execution on client deliverables, communicate client status updates and provide Key Performance Indicators to senior management to ensure appropriate escalation and prioritization of all client issues in partnership with our Client Service and Relationship Management Teams.
  • Manage client change requirement and providing valued, efficient and market leading service on an ongoing basis, working on both new client onboardings and to protect and maintain existing clients. 
  • Work closely with Global Operation Transformation Team, identifying opportunities where there can be further alignment between various areas of our growing operations to help drive change through innovation & transformation that will ultimately define the target operating model and improving the controls environment.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions during system upgrades including the provision of guidance, direction, and support to project teams, promoting a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Partner closely with the ANZ Leadership Team and wider functions to enable consistent and effective operational processes whilst advocating process improvement and change from concept to final delivery changes, and organizational restructuring, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Assist in the delivery of other operational activities supporting regional functions as required to successfully deliver the Fund Services product sets.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • High caliber candidate with a proven track record at managing at a senior level, with Ideally exposure to regional/international roles.
  • A strong understanding of fund services operations, including fund accounting, financial reporting, transfer agency, and alternative investments. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve their best.
  • A team player who is flexible and can maintain both a positive attitude and high level of performance in demanding/ time-sensitive initiatives.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess curiosity, resourcefulness, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to synthesize large amounts of information and propose recommendation.
  • Experience in developing and implementation of large-scale transformation.
  • Demonstrated success in developing business strategy to deliver business outcomes.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 15+ years of experience in the fund administration Industry (incorporating financial reporting activities, Net Asset Valuations/Fund accounting and Audit) in a service delivery model.
  • Ability to build a strong talent pipeline by developing other leaders by establishing clear objectives and constructing career pathways.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing challenging conversations and confidently handle performance management when necessary.
  • Experience working in a high growth team, start-up environment, adaptable, agile in approach and able to work in a constantly evolving business.
