POSTION SUMMARY & KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
A position is available within Software Engineering Operations for a DevOps Engineer. The DevOps Engineer role utilizes a mix of cutting edge open source and enterprise level applications to provide our customers with centralized application delivery pipeline solutions with are fully compliant with SAFe, change, incident and configuration management processes
Participate in an agile development environment supporting tools and processes based on best practices (SCRUM, KANBAN, TDD, XP, CRYSTAL, FDD…)
Work hands-on to create automated, containerized cloud application platforms, and design and implement DevOps processes that use those platforms
Learn new technologies quickly, including topics like immutable infrastructure, docker containers, mesos, marathon and microservices architecture
Integrate various components and build tools that allow our system and the entire team to operate more efficiently
Act as a subject matter expert for troubleshooting and resolving complex, multi-tier architecture problems that span a number of different platforms
Automate production operations processes
Automate continuous integration and deployment processes
Deliver infrastructure requests for software projects on time
Proactive Monitoring design and automation
Developing and maintaining recipes, and cookbooks for the Chef automation platform
Developing and maintaining continuous delivery pipelines in Jenkins CI
Supporting and maintaining Sonatype Nexus Binary repositories
Supporting and maintaining Sonatype Nexus Staging and Production servers
Stays current with technology, disseminates knowledge to team members, forms best practices.
Provide input on current processes and develop improvements for quality, security, performance, maintainability, and scaling
