Joining the team as a Sr. Manager, DevOps (Product Platforms) will provide you the opportunity to make a huge impact in a high growth company. You will be responsible for building and supporting a team who is responsible for the build, design, & architecture of platforms consisting of industry leading, enterprise grade cloud technologies. When you are successful you will significantly accelerate the ability of our entire team to deliver innovative products into our customers hands safely and securely at scale. You will be supported through in-house training and certification on our Coupa University platform and through subscriptions with leading learning partners.

What Will You Do:

  • Lead a cross-functional team of DevOps engineers in an agile environment to build and support platforms built on modern cloud technologies that provide a suite of functionality delivering APIs, integrations, security, messaging, streaming, identity, performance, reliability & containers
  • Act as partner to provide technical guidance, support, and direction for several Platform Engineering teams
  • Develop and drive long-term strategies and roadmaps aligning with business priorities in partnership with the Product Management team
  • Use data-driven insights across our cloud estate to inform and drive new feature development to optimize usage and reduce cost

What Skills Are Useful:

  • Has 4+ years of experience in leading and supporting a team of DevOps or software engineers, distributed & remote
  • Has 8+ years of hands-on DevOps experience using Go, Python, Java, Ruby or equivalent
  • Has experience with data platforms (Elasticsearch, Kafka), queueing & background services (SQS, SNS, Resque), identity services (Keycloak, Aerobase, FreeIPA), integrations (API gateways, middleware), application security, or cloud performance optimization
  • Has experience in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, AKS, ECS)
  • Has experience building & running modern full-stack cloud applications using public cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) reliably and at scale
  • Takes full ownership of products and has a track record of sustainably delivering high quality features & managing technical debt
  • Has effective communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate complicated problems to all levels of the organization & customers
  • Will be confident in their ability to own and deliver a roadmap tied to business priorities
  • Has a passion for excellence, is a natural problem solver, and a critical thinker. You should enjoy digging deep to understand issues and like solving hard problems
  • Has a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent 

It would also be great (but not essential) for you to have:

  • Experience with modern infrastructure management systems (Chef, Ansible, Terraform)
  • Expertise in building Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), or Internal Developer Portal (IDP) solutions
