We’re looking for a SeniorAccounts Payable and GL Accountant to join the team at Edpuzzle, a leading edtech company trusted by over 80% of schools in the USA and millions of teachers and students across the globe. As a member of the Finance team, the SeniorAccounts Payable and GL Accountant will be a goal-oriented, highly accurate team player and will help Edpuzzle continue to shape our high-performing Finance department.

Our Finance Team is composed of team members of different levels of seniority. This allows us to learn from each other, get to know our product in-depth, and collaborate on scalable projects to achieve challenging goals together!

About you:

To succeed, you will need to be a master of organization with strong attention to detail to achieve a month-end close deadline. Your drive to exceed performance expectations will contribute to efficiency and reduction of the month-end close cycle.

About the role:

  • Enter vendor invoices into the accounting system:
  • Obtain applicable approvals
  • Attach and/or save invoices and supporting documents electronically
  • Organize and file supporting documents electronically
  • Manage vendors’ payment inquiries
  • Submit Purchase Requisitions
  • Review Purchase Requisitions that are submitted by other Accounts Payable Accountants, and mentor and guide junior accountants.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable and GL accounting team members
  • Contribute to timely month-end close
  • Assist with timely and accurate financial statement preparations in accordance with US GAAP
  • Prepare journal entries in the following (but not limited to) areas: Revenue, Accrued expenses, Payroll, Fixed asset and depreciation, and internally developed software
  • Perform or review and approve revenue recognition analysis
  • Prepare or review and approve balance sheet reconciliation
  • Assist with external audit process
  • Participate and assist with new system implementation(s)
  • Assist with tax preparation and filing
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in full AP accounting (US company experience is preferred)
  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in GL accounting is an additional advantage
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA license
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and accounting policies
  • Computer literacy in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to listen effectively 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and proactively
  • Ability to follow accounting standards, company policies, and procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, balance workload independently, and meet deadlines
  • Must be a dependable team player with a positive attitude

Bonus skills:

  • Prior experience with QuickBooks accounting system and Salesforce
  • Experience in SaaS or an edtech company
  • Experience working with remote teams
  • Extremely deadline-driven and exceptional ability to deliver results on time
  • Experience leading a team
  • Fluency in Spanish
