Summary

The Director - Regional Security, India and SWA will be responsible for security, protecting Hyatt brand, guests, staff, and assets from a range of security risks and threats (particularly criminality, terrorism, and political violence). This role will supervise regional security specialists on an as-needed basis. This role will provide expert investigative, intelligence and physical security support to the region’s hotel operations and assist in the continuous improvement/ development of security programs, cluster security directors and hotel security managers, security program materials, management systems and initiatives.

  • Under the guidance of the CSO, implement security policies, standards, and security management systems, identifying appropriate responsibilities, accountabilities, and development requirements across the assigned region.
  • Under the supervision of the Managing Director - India & SWA, respond to SSM events as necessary and act as a liaison/consultant with public agencies, regulatory bodies, and/or SSM management teams. Provide area and/or local level support, as necessary.
  • At the direction of the Managing Director - India & SWA, investigate security incidents involving the actual or potential loss or exposure to the company. 
  • Act as a liaison point for security and law enforcement agencies and coordinate with them (as appropriate) any security incidents, threats, and investigations involving Hyatt operations within the region.
  • Collect, assess, and act on security intelligence from all recognized sources.
  • Audit and/or review hotel security programs across all ownership models at individual hotels. May further evaluate individual hotel programs as needed. Under the supervision of Hyatt Global Security/Risk Management, conduct or support Threat and Vulnerability Assessments of higher risk sites and follow-up implementation of recommendations.
  • Support functional training initiatives for GM’s, Security Directors/Managers & Officers, persons vested with security responsibilities, and Security Awareness/ specialized training initiatives for colleagues within the region. 
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Hotel Security Directors/Managers in assigned region. Assist General Managers in developing hotel security management and program initiatives to address the varied needs of hotels within the region.
  • Carry out security program evaluations and assessment surveys, and follow-up implementation of any findings/recommendations.
  • As part of the regional senior management team, support the wider SVP Operations business strategy and develop sales and marketing opportunities by leveraging leading security risk and SSM management capabilities. 
  • As part of the enterprise Security Function and Risk Management team, support operational acceptance and compliance with all Fire, Life Safety and Security standards and ways of working across all ownership and operating models.
  • In consultation with the Corporate Chief Security Officer (CSO), develop and maintain formal and informal networks in government security and law enforcement agencies, hotel industry counterparts and corporate security circles in support of the above.

  • Providing Strategic planning and vision in the area under their purview
  • Providing guidance on IR matters and security and safety matters related to IR including workplace violence
  • Provide regional support on Cyber Crime prevention and investigation
  • Represent the organization at events organized by Government and private agencies and establish a network.
  • Develop knowledge of Security and Safety protocols specific to the region
  • Assist in reviewing security contracts
  • Help identify appropriate security technologies and solutions that will positively impact operations
  • Assist with the recruitment of Security heads at the unit level.
  • Contribute to training, development and upskilling of the Security team

Qualifications

  • Ten or more years progressive work-related experience with demonstrated proficiency in multiple relevant disciplines/processes, including previous law enforcement, intelligence, or military experience.
  • Formal education in a relevant field of security or an equivalent combination of formal education and work-related security experience. 
  • Security or risk management information system knowledge a plus.
