Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a Senior Human Resource Specialist-Diversity, Inclusion & Development at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Reporting directly to the Director, Global Diversity & Inclusion/Talent Management, the Senior HR Specialist- Diversity, Inclusion & Development is a key member of the Talent Management Center of Expertise (COE).  The role is responsible for the design, development and implementation of programs designed to foster a diverse workforce, cultivate inclusive leadership and enhance employee engagement.  The role partners closely with the Learning & Development, to design and facilitate leadership and employee-based development programs, including all diversity related training and the company’s Management Fundamentals Program for first time leaders.  The role oversees the company’s Leadership Development Program for Diverse Talent, is a member of the Inclusion Network, provides strategic guidance to Employee Resource Groups, and is responsible for the company’s global recognition program
As a member of the Talent Management COE, the role works in highly team-based and collaborative manner to develop solutions for use at both a regional and a global level in support of the company’s Talent Management strategy and Air Product’s vision to be the most diverse industrial gas company in the world.


  • This is an individual contributor role reporting directly to the head of Global D&I/Talent Management, responsible for:
  • Global inclusive leadership and unconscious bias training solutions reaching front-line supervisors, hiring managers and Salary Budget Managers through leadership standing programs, as well as stand-alone offerings such as Manager’s Toolkits, etc.
  • Diversity & Inclusion training reaching all new employees, globally
  • Hands-on coordination/facilitation of targeted leadership and employee development programs, including the global Leadership Development Program for Diverse Talent program and Management Fundamentals training for first time people leaders
  • Design and delivery of targeted employee development and engagement programs, including the workshops/training on influence, cultural competency, and change management.
  • Global solutions related to Service Awards and Recognitions, impacting ~ 13,000 employees with a budget of $750,000 to $1 million.   

This position is accountable for the following end results:

  • Manage design and delivery of Global Service Award and Recognition programs
  • Design and deliver Diversity & Inclusion training programs and communications materials globally to support high performing teams, inclusive leadership practices and the overall ability of the organization to attract, develop and retain a diverse workforce.
  • Partner to design and deliver effective training programs and communications materials related to employee engagement and talent management.
  • Co-facilitate Management Fundamentals for first time people leaders and provide 1:1 coaching to learners.  
  • Consult with HR Operations globally on regional and local D&I needs and provide effective solutions to foster inclusion around the world. 
  • Provide oversight for selected Employee Resource Groups (ERG) to ensure strategic alignment and provide tangible support; participate in the Inclusion Network to help leverage solutions across all ERGs.
  • Maintain D&I related policies at the Global and North American level.
  • Maintain current on external trends and best practices in diversity & inclusion.  


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (i.e. HR, Org. Development, I/O Psychology, etc.); Master’s preferred
  • Subject matter expertise in diversity & inclusion, unconscious bias, talent development, and organizational development within a global environment; prefer 7-10 years’ work experience
  • Strong collaborative skills; ability to work effectively in a high-paced, team environment
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and oral; the ability to develop impactful presentation materials and to effectively facilitate and present to both employee and management audiences.

  • Certification in MBTI, DiSC and/or Korn Ferry KFLA/Voices an asset
