About this role

Do you have a passion for connecting the digital world to the physical one? . We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced network engineer to further develop their career within a leading building design consultancy. The senior network design engineer role will assist in developing the ICT team within Network Design for Building Systems, providing expert advice, and assisting in the development and enhancement of our in-house technical standards, details and specifications.

What will I do?

  • Design and continue to optimize network solutions based on business requirements, network performance and cost.
  • Provide in-depth network design and ensure that solutions proposed meet customers’ need.
  • Support and provide quality technical consultation and develop cost effective, resilient, innovative, and reliable Network solutions.
  • Keep abreast of technological advancement in the industry in Infrastructure security.
  • Help to develop internal technical standards, documentation, and specifications.

What will I bring?

  • Proficiency in LAN/WAN topologies using routing protocols like OSPF, BGP, EIGRP.
  • Strong understanding of Network Security including the latest network/security threats & issues & their mitigating solutions.
  • An ability to manage packages of work, taking charge of their own deliverables and the deliverables of others to successfully meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent report writing ability, with experience of writing specifications of varying detail to align with the requirements of the RIBA stages.
  • An ability to act on your own initiative, solving problems on projects and building relationships across the wider team and practice.
