Marketing Head - South Asia

Position Summary:

As the Marketing Manager, you will take charge of crafting and building the marketing strategy at the sub- regional/country level, covering all End-Uses. This important role includes driving main local initiatives and coordinating Regional Programmes, promotions, and support through active discussions with sales and BU regional teams. Your strategic insights will be gleaned from valuable interactions with customers, account managers, Evaluation, Product Management, Technical staff, and a blend of secondary and primary research.

You will also envision leadership responsibilities, where you will lead a team of segment marketers: you will oversee the functional supervision of a Junior Marketing Manager, 2 Marketing Executives, and 1 Marketing Assistant, collaborating with Consumer Sensory Insights team. In this dynamic position, Reporting directly to the Country Head, this role is based in Mumbai. Join us in shaping the future of our marketing endeavours!

Purpose - Essential Job Functions/Accountabilities

  • Assess market position of Givaudan and its capabilities versus market opportunities and competitive offerings.
  • Develop prioritised list of target accounts / countries / end-uses / applications / flavour icons / to prioritize Givaudan marketing resource allocation and focus.
  • Identify short, medium and long-term market opportunities. Define them commercially and technically to lead the marketing calendar / innovation programmes.
  • Understand consumer needs through CU, sensory and other subscribed marketing data as well as intelligence; familiar with category trends.
  • Lead and administrate Sensory support activities in agreement with Sensory Regional Head.
  • Guide tactical plan for sensory support / consumer understanding and the use of external agencies for communication or marketing support.
  • Develop and own a Calendar of product launches, supported with prices and a communication package.
  • Manage this Calendar of Country’s activities, equipped with marketing props, prototypes demo that have been validated (met local profile/preference).
  • To guide local team in developing Brand Concept Proposal for selected customers to support ADP whenever possible.
  • Work with sales to ensure quality execution of reactive projects to meet account development plan needs. Support on Individual reactive projects.
  • Provide market understanding and presentation support to Account Managers.
  • To support regional / local product management in designing new launches to market by providing market understanding of country needs to avoid launch errors or issues, and improve the effectiveness.
  • Lead regional promotion roll-out and ensure its local relevancy to generate the appropriate business return.
  • Develop close relationships and end-use understanding with (in particular) the, the technical community.
  • Identify suitable opportunities for push products.
  • Vet and prioritise customer opportunities identified by Sales for substitution play or Portfolio Management.
  • Monitor and measure the performance and success of launches.
  • Monitor and measure the performance of innovation developments.
  • Involved in Library enhancement with technical community.

About You:

  • College Degree required Major: Marketing / Business Administration - Chemistry/Biochemistry/Food Tech/ depending on working experience. Advanced Degree preferred Major: Business Management
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience
  • Have experience with brand analysis, consumer research tools, consumer insights
  • Have market analysis experience – Leadership experience on strategy setting.
  • Have innovation and new product development experience
  • PowerPoint and presentation skills
  • Communication & project drive skills
