The Electrical & Instrumentation & Control system group is a dynamic team in which engineering, design and leadership skills are combined to effectively support our clients. Being a team player and having an ability to interact effectively with client’s organization and others disciplines in our taskforce is essential.

We are looking for an experienced and highly qualified Senior Instrumentation & Control Systems Engineer to join our team.

Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise, plan, and coordinate the work.

o Evaluate client’s project scope and standards and report to Project management about important deviations.

o Prepare schedules, estimates, manpower forecasts and apply change-risk management.

o Communicate and align with clients, vendors, and other disciplines.

o Define mitigations and provide advice and judgement on deviations from standards / processes and delegate such authority where appropriate

o Inform project management on scope deviations (indicate changes to the contract) and schedule.

  • Build relations with client representatives, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Squad check vendor equipment documentation
  • Perform, check and audit control systems sizing calculations for control valves, relief valves, flow elements, thermowells and other instrumentation
  • Create instrument index and datasheets, generate reports, and monitor design wiring and loop development activities in Intergraph SmartPlant Instrumentation and Aveva databases
  • Develop control systems narrative specifications
  • Prepare Instrument design and installation requirements
  • Develop control systems logic diagrams and/or cause and effect diagrams
  • Represent control systems in model reviews
  • Monitor 3D modeling prepared by the design group using review software
  • Develop specifications for Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Fire and Gas, hardware and software applications
  • Monitor DCS/PLC/SIS/FGS design developed by the design group
  • Participate in SIL/LOPA assessment and perform SIL validation.
  • Comply to Client, Local, international Codes & Standards
  • Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental Policies
  • Develop and evaluate Installation/Construction sub contract.
  • Provide Control system requirements for Mechanical packaged Equipment.
  • Participate and lead FAT/SAT activities at vendor premises and site.
  • When required, willing to work at construction sites and contractor locations
  • Bachelor, Master degree or equivalent in Instrumentation, Control Systems engineering
  • Flexible and willing to travel
  • Well-developed communication, organizational, interpersonal & leadership skills
  • Experience with Scrum, Lean, Agile Methodologies or willingness to learn in practice
  • Preferred candidates live in Europe
  • Fluent in English , German and/or Dutch are an advantage

Typical Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years relevant working experience with an engineering contractor or production company in the process industry.
  • Exhibit thorough understanding and having practical knowledge/experience with field installations, field verifications and available ICS components
  • Sound knowledge of applicable national and international codes, regulations and standards
  • Practical field / site experience for the ICS installation.

Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.
