Position Description: We are in search of a top-tier GL Accounting member who is highly motivated to learn and grow within a fast-paced organization. This role will lead the Stock-based compensation accounting team in finance shared services and be responsible for supervising the work of assigned staff, supporting the month-end close process, SOX compliance control execution and quarterly / annual audit process, as well as identifying and driving project-based work to provide process efficiencies. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, communicative, self-motivated team player with a solid working knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal controls. Additionally, this individual thrives on process improvement and enjoys working in a challenging, collaborative environment to support our continued growth and success.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the accounting for stock-based compensation under ASC-718
  • Lead the month-end close activities, including review of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations related to stock-based compensation
  • Review balance sheet and P&L fluctuation analyses
  • Partner with the Stock Administration team to confirm employee equity awards and related inputs and transactions are properly captured in our stock administration tool (E*TRADE Equity Edge Online) to ensure stock-based compensation expense is calculated correctly
  • Assist in preparing internal, statutory, and external financial reporting schedules
  • Support the quarterly reviews and annual audit requests and inquiries from our external auditors
  • Maintain and enhance the internal controls over accounting processes and systems and ensure SOX policy compliance
  • Assist in implementing new accounting policies and procedures and assessing the accounting implications of new transactions or scenarios
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal stakeholders such as Stock Administration, Payroll, FP&A, Tax, International Statutory Reporting, Internal Audit, and SEC teams
  • Provide a high level of customer service with finance and non-finance business partners by providing financial insights and relevant reporting
  • Ad hoc accounting projects and requests, as needed
  • Mentor, coach, build and develop the team

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree, emphasis in Accounting
  • Experience accounting for Stock-based compensation under ASC-718
  • Knowledge of the operational processes related to employee equity compensation including Options, Restricted Stock (RSUs & RSAs), Performance Stock (PSUs), and Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
  • 8+ years working experience of combined public accounting and private industry at a publicly traded company
  • With at least 3+ years supervisory experience
  • Ability to work in a dynamic setting while maintaining accuracy and delivering against deadlines
  • Hands on experience with supporting US Corporate headquarters
  • Solid working knowledge and application of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX/internal controls
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and organization skills
  • Ability to identify, follow-up, and resolve discrepancies timely
  • High level of attention to detail is a must
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills
  • A team player, adept at building relationships across the organization
  • Proficient with Google Workspace (Gmail, Sheets, Docs) and Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with NetSuite and/or other major ERPs (i.e., Oracle, SAP) preferred 
  • Experience using E*TRADE Equity Edge Online or other comparable stock plan administration system preferred
  • Experience with publicly traded technology company preferred
  • CPA or CPA equivalent is a plus
