Job Purpose and Impact

The Business Performance Management (BPM) Finance Directorwill provide strategic financial leadership to establish the vision and strategy of financial planning and analysis for Cargill. In this role, you will be responsible for bringing best-in-class FP&A thought partnership to Cargill, partnering across PDT and Enterprises to define future process, data and technology needs in order to deliver transformation to FP&A across the company.

Key Accountabilities

  • Create FP&A Transformation vision for Cargill, partnering across Corporate FP&A, PDT and Enterprise Finance Leads to streamline and amplify FP&A capabilities. This role will lead the advancement of FP&A, including the future vision for management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, evaluating current processes, seeing opportunities, and implementing change.
  • Define business requirements and execution plan for Management Reporting and Planning implementation of One Stream working closely with PDT and Enterprise Finance leads, including optimizing product and account hierarchies, streamlining reporting, and simplification and automation of forecasting and planning.
  • Direct the identification and implementation of key performance indicators (KPIs) to create, maintain and preserve value and focuses management on the most significant risks and opportunities.
  • Lead the design, development and implementation of value-added business analytics and seeks external benchmarking to provide insights to drive targeted actions to map out where work comes out and how best to redeploy resources. 
  • Design and implement Cargill Value Case for BPM. Be able to clearly identify broader people, process, data and technology needs in partnership with Finance PDT that will be required to supplement OneStream deployment to fully recognize value case.
  • Partners closely with other functions and business managers to ensure strategies are accomplished, leveraging accounting and finance resources for key support, information and data.
  • Provide strategic thought leadership to the business in handling and achieving strategic priorities, leading in a matrixed organization by building strong relationships across the company.
  • Transform Corporate FP&A to deliver relevant insightful business and financial analysis to improve company performance, including transformation of FP&A process and unlocking future analytical capabilities.
  • Lead the Planning and Actuals transformation of centrally held costs, including simplification and optimization of Cost Centers. Leverage technical knowledge of system and data capabilities to achieved more holistic forecasting capabilities across multiple cost categories.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Confirmed ability to communicate complex topics in a simple and concise manner, enabling improved decision making and deeper business insight
  • Experience integrating and interpreting disparate sources of data by leveraging a broad range of analytical data tools, statistical methodologies and predictive modeling techniques
  • Experience in international business management and issues, including global supply chains, multiple currency environments, commodity and financial risk
  • Minimum of eight years of related work experience, five years of supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading or managing FP&A transformation, including experiences optimizing data hierarchies, financial processes, and implementing FP&A technologies. Most importantly, passionate about leading transformation in a highly matrixed and complex company!
  • Subject matter expertise in Financial Statement structures and Data Hierarchies – e.g., model COGS and SG&A PNL and know-how of Product, Customer, Activity, Geography and Enterprise hierarchies.
  • Experience leading and driving change within Finance teams, project management and delivering value. Ability to clearly communicate and influence across the organization to be able to drive the change management required.
  • Know-how in simplifying, standardizing and automating planning processes.
  • Master's degree or other post-secondary degree in finance, economics or accounting
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with background in leading multiple planning cycles.
