Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit 

The Department of Psychology consists of 24 full-time faculty and offers a BA and BS in psychology, an MA in General Experimental Psychology, and the Ph.D. in developmental, clinical, cognitive, and social psychology (See https://psy.uncg.edu/ for more information).

Position SummaryThe Department of Psychology at UNC-Greensboro invites applications for a tenure-track position in Clinical Psychology (Assistant Professor level), to begin August 1, 2024. The Department of Psychology consists of 24 full-time faculty and offers a BA and BS in psychology, including Disciplinary Honors, an MA in experimental psychology, and a PhD in clinical, cognitive, developmental, and social psychology (See http://psy.uncg.edu for more information). Our department is home to the UNCG Psychology Clinic (https://psy.uncg.edu/clinic/), our doctoral training clinic that provides mental health services to the broader community, with a focus on providing empirically supported treatments to underserved populations in a culturally competent manner. UNCG’s clinical program emphasizes the integration of science and practice, values both basic and applied research on human behavior across the life span, and encourages collaboration across research areas. The doctoral program in Clinical Psychology is accredited by the American Psychological Association.

  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Applicants must have a Ph.D. by August 1, 2024, from an APA-accredited clinical program and be licensed or license-eligible in North Carolina. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • All applicants should show evidence of a strong independent research program, a commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds, and excellence in graduate and undergraduate teaching and practicum supervision.
  • We welcome applications from scholars with an active and productive program of research in any area of clinical psychology, with a focus on either adult or child populations.
  • We are particularly interested in researchers who would broaden existing departmental strengths by adding expertise in areas such as anxiety disorders, health psychology, substance use disorders, or autism.
