The Position:

As a Tech Lead / Manager you will lead a small team of software developers in a cross-functional product team building mobile applications for youth sports teams. You will be a hands-on developer, a leader, and a coach. You will collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Marketers, QA Analysts, and other Engineering leaders.  

You will:

  • Play a key role in product and architectural decisions
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of critical features used by millions of users
  • Ship early and often. New iOS and Android apps are released every other week.
  • Be a leader in continually improving our innovative engineering culture
  • Promote responsible engineering practices
  • Help the engineers on your team gain technical breadth and depth, improve judgment, and develop into tomorrow’s leaders
  • Refine technical, leadership, and management skills that will serve as a foundation in your engineering management career

Required experience:

  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • People leadership experience at a small or mid-sized tech company with a DevOps and/or Agile culture
  • Hands-on development experience with at least one of: iOS in Swift or Objective-C, Android in Java or Kotlin
  • Comfort working in multi-disciplined product teams
  • Ability and interest in learning a variety of technology stacks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer empathy
  • History of successful product delivery

  • Management training / reading
  • Test Driven Development
  • Continuous Integration
  • GitHub Pull Request Workflow
  • Languages: Swift, Objective-C, Java, Kotlin, Python, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript
  • NoSQL and Relational Database
