DPL is hiring an Assistant Branch Supervisor for the Ross-University Hills branch. This position reports to the Branch Supervisor and works as second in charge to manage daily operations at the Branch Library. In this position, you will supervise staff and oversee daily operations at the Ross-University Hills location where all are free to explore and connect. The ideal candidate must be committed to providing a welcoming environment for all customers with the ability to foster curiosity by promoting our services throughout the community, especially among youth and our underserved populations. This person must make it a priority to connect with our customers, and build relationships while providing access to our collection and our space in an equitable manner. This person must be able to demonstrate accountability to members of the communities we serve as a good steward of our resources in a way that reflects our values and commitment to support the needs of a diverse community. The assistant branch supervisor serves as the person in charge (PIC) at other library locations occasionally; duties include overseeing safety, building security and security officer on duty.
About Our Branch
Originally built in 1962, the Ross-University Hills Branch Library is a well-loved, bustling neighborhood branch, located near two busy shopping centers. The branch is a lively circulation and reference location, with historically high door counts and frequent customer interactions. Ross-University Hills welcomes a wide variety of community members, and offers programming for older adults, popular storytimes, activities for children and families, as well as Plaza programs.

Minimum requirements: Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science and two years of professional librarian experience.
