Who You’ll Be Joining: 

We have a unique opportunity for a data driven analytics professional who is passionate about technology and sustainability to join ecobee’s Marketing Analytics team. Reporting to the Director, the Marketing Analytics Specialist will work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of internal colleagues to enable the Marketing team to make strong data-driven decisions that drive positive business outcomes.

You will be joining an amazing team of marketers and technologists that are focused on delivering meaningful impact to customers’ lives and to the environment.

This role is hybrid with an expectation to be in the Toronto office at least 2 days per week. 

How You’ll Make an Impact: 

In this role you will be responsible for enabling the Marketing team to make better business decisions by owning and supporting marketing data, infrastructure and process, and relationships with key stakeholders across the organization. You will be the go-to person to ensure efficiency and effectiveness across our Marketing Analytics function by leveraging your technical and analytical skills to draw out actionable insights. The ideal candidate brings analytical rigor, experience in identifying gaps and improving marketing analytics capabilities using technology.

While your primary stakeholder will be the Marketing team, you will also collaborate closely with the Product, Business Intelligence, Data Science, Finance, and Retail & Digital teams. You will also have the opportunity to influence leadership with data and clearly articulate and execute against top priorities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Builds and maintains the Marketing Analytics infrastructure with the support of the Marketing Analytics Manager and Marketing Technology Lead.
  • Owns the development of the necessary technical processes to enable effective and efficient ingestion, warehousing and archiving of data.
  • Supports the Marketing Analytics Manager on ways to enable high impact insights to inform strategic decision making for the Marketing organization.
  • Collaboratively build, maintain, and evolve foundational analytics artefacts such as executive dashboards, campaign post-mortem templates and ad-hoc reports.
  • Consults with marketing stakeholders to understand their data/analytical requirements and proactively collaborates with necessary teams to action.
  • Owns and coordinates management of marketing data dictionary in collaboration with Product Analytics, BI, Data Science and other internal analytical functions.
  • Cultivate knowledge, establish best practices, and disseminate them across various teams

We’re looking for a candidate who melds the art and science of business, technology, and marketing to enable transformative ideas to be realized and actioned. Someone who can be a subject matter expert and a trusted “go-to” colleague for guidance and analytics best-practices. You’re also able to quickly grasp the details and nuances of the smart home category, our existing and future distribution channels, buyer personas, subscriptions services and product differentiation elements.

What You’ll Bring to the Table:

  • Progressive work experience in a marketing analytics function with an emphasis on technical capabilities. Media agency background is a plus.
  • An educational background in marketing, analytics, data science, or related field.
  • A strong technical and data management background, querying data using SQL, or other relevant technologies, and working with platforms like Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Google BigQuery.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like (Looker, Tableau, SiSense), users experience tools (Google Analytics, Amplitude) and statistical and ETL tools (Python, R, Hevo),
  • A curious and strategic thinker who can dive deep to get the necessary data. You can confidently and concisely present recommendations to both business and technical stakeholders using strong storytelling skills tailored to your audience. You can tell the story of what happened, and why.
  • Passionate about the analytical process and balance it with a strong business and marketing background. You know how to measure success from marketing initiatives and showcase both the short-term and long-term benefits of brand building activities, while at the same time being comfortable gathering datasets with a SQL query.
  • You have excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
  • A strong interest in marketing innovation, along with an understanding of the impacts of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
